How I celebrated 3 days of Vietnamese New Year

For Tet 2014, I tried to make something special every day for 3 days for Vietnamese New Year. See pictures below to see what I made to celebrate.

For Day 1 of Vietnamese New Year - January 31, 2014, I made Vietnamese carmelized stuff squid and served it over rice.


For Day 2 of Vietnamese New Year- February 1, 2014, we had hot pot (lau) at home. We used the Mongolian Little Sheep brand. It tastes just like the restaurant!

Making Boba at Home and making a snow bubble

Being from San Diego, I was very spoiled by the many tea shops on Convoy Street, which is also known as Asian town in Clairemont Mesa. When I moved away to the Southeast to a small town, there was only one restaurant that had boba and it didn't taste good at all. My husband decided to surprise me and bought me a boba starter kit so I can make my own delicious boba drinks at home! It is one of the best surprises ever!
